Terms of Service

Agreement

By uploading a file or otherwise using mp3totext.xyz you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the service. In these terms, "we" means the individual who operates mp3totext.xyz; there is no company behind it.

What we do with your files, your transcripts and your account data is set out in the Privacy Policy , which forms part of these terms.

What the service does

You upload an audio or video file. We extract the audio where needed, run automatic speech recognition over it, and return a transcript with timestamps and speaker labels that you can read and export as TXT, SRT or VTT. The transcription is machine-generated. No human listens to your recording as part of producing it.

Free allowance and limits

Everyone gets a free allowance made of two limits that apply together: a lifetime total amount of audio, and a smaller daily amount that resets at 00:00 UTC. The current figures, and how much of each you have left, are shown in the app. Per-file limits on size and duration are shown on the upload panel before you start, and some of them depend on whether you are signed in.

The free allowance costs nothing and needs no card. When it runs out, you can wait for the daily reset or buy paid hours. The free limits can change.

Paid hours

You can buy hours of transcription in two ways. Current prices and the hours each option includes are shown before you buy.

• Hour packs are one-time purchases. Their hours never expire.
• Monthly subscriptions add a set number of hours at the start of each billing period. Hours you do not use by the end of the period expire; they do not carry over.

Paid hours are not subject to the daily free limit. The per-file limits on the upload panel still apply. When a file is transcribed, free allowance is used first, then subscription hours, then hour packs; one file can draw on more than one of them. Failed transcriptions do not use any hours.

If you run out of hours, you can buy a pack or move to a larger subscription. Upgrading takes effect immediately; the price difference and the extra hours are both prorated for the rest of the period. Downgrading takes effect at the end of the current period. If a subscription renewal payment fails, that period's hours are not added; your hour pack balance is not affected.

You can cancel a subscription at any time from your account page. You keep the current period's hours until the period ends, and you are not charged again.

Payments

Purchases are processed by Creem, which acts as the merchant of record. That means you buy from Creem: Creem takes the payment, issues your receipt, and calculates and pays any sales tax or VAT that applies. Creem's name appears on your card statement. Creem's own terms also apply at checkout.

We never see or store your card number. Prices are in US dollars; any tax is worked out by Creem at checkout based on where you are.

Refunds

If you haven't used any hours from a purchase, email support@mp3totext.xyz within 14 days for a full refund. Once hours have been used, the purchase is non-refundable; failed transcriptions never count against your balance. Subscriptions can be cancelled at any time from your account page: you keep the current period's hours until it ends and are not charged again.

Your account

You can use the service without signing in, up to the per-file duration limit shown on the upload panel; longer files need an account. Without an account your transcripts and your remaining allowance are tied to a cookie in your browser; if you clear it, switch browsers or use a private window, you will not be able to reach the earlier transcripts and we cannot recover them for you.

Signing in with Google is the only way to create an account here, and it gives you access from more than one device. Because there is no password on our side, keeping your Google account secure is what keeps yours secure. You are responsible for what happens under your account. Do not create multiple identities to get around the free allowance.

Your content

Your files and the transcripts made from them stay yours. You give us only the permission needed to run the service: to store your file, pass it to the transcription provider named in the Privacy Policy , generate a transcript, and show both back to you. That permission ends when the files are deleted.

You confirm that you have the right to upload what you upload, including the right to have a recording of other people transcribed, and that doing so does not breach anyone's rights or any law that applies where the recording was made.

Acceptable use

Do not use the service to:

• upload material you have no right to use, or that infringes copyright or privacy;
• upload content that is illegal, or recordings made illegally;
• work around the free allowance, whether by scripting, by creating identities in bulk, or otherwise;
• attack, probe or overload the service, or attempt to reach data that is not yours;
• upload malware, or files crafted to break the processing pipeline;
• resell the service or pass it off as your own.

Files are deleted after 24 hours

Your audio and its transcript are deleted 24 hours after upload. This is not a storage or backup service, and there is no way to recover a transcript once it has gone. Exporting what you want to keep is your responsibility. Details are in the Privacy Policy .

Accuracy

Speech recognition makes mistakes. Accents, background noise, crosstalk and poor recordings all cost accuracy, and speaker labels can be wrong or split one person into two. Check the transcript against the audio before relying on it. Do not use it as the sole basis for medical, legal, financial, employment or safety decisions.

Availability and changes

The service is provided as it stands, with no guarantee of uptime. It can be interrupted, changed or discontinued at any time, including while a transcription is running. Features and limits can change without notice.

No warranty

The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. We do not warrant that transcripts will be accurate or complete, or that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits, lost data or lost transcripts, arising out of your use of the service. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or US$10 if you have not paid anything.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under the law that applies to you.

Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate access, and remove content, if these terms are breached or if the service is being used in a way that threatens its operation or other users. You can stop using the service at any time; deleting your transcripts removes their files immediately.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change, the date at the top of the page changes with them. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the updated terms.
